The Erpenbach Institute Fellowship brings together a small number of independent contributors around a single question. Each cycle is defined by one question, and the contributions are published by the Institute.

Fellows respond to the question independently, from their own field and perspective. The contributions are developed separately and are not coordinated with one another.

The Fellowship is open to researchers, practitioners and independent thinkers from all disciplines. Institutional affiliation is not required.
The Fellowship is organised in two annual cycles. Calls normally run from 1 December to 1 February and from 1 June to 1 August. The Institute selects a small cohort based on the strength and fit of the applications; no fixed number of places is set in advance.
